Newly opened in 2010 as part of the huge CityCenter complex created by the MGM Mirage corporation, the Aria is an opulent casino connected to a sprawling upscale mall and a number of upscale hotels. The poker room at the Aria is as high-class and fancy as the rest of the casino, and in mid-2010 unveiled their special 'Ivey Room', a super-high-stakes single-table room frequented by its namesake. No poker room can fade a group of overweight poker players going to town on the high end menu day after day. Eventually, Aria changed it's policy and now offer a $40 food comp for poker players during a session, which essentially comes to about 2.5 hours worth of rake, as they pay $9 every 30 minutes. The Aria Poker Room has a dedicated poker room cashier cage, an elevated top section for high limit games as well as 'Ivey's Room' for very high stakes. Aria Poker Room utilizes a system for tracking the waiting lists, open seats, chip requests, and players earned comps. The audio system in the room allows for patrons outside of the room to hear their name being called, and soft music plays on all overhead speakers.
